Love 'Eat Pray Love'!

It has been a month! A month! I know I know, I keep apologizing but school has really tide me up more than I could imagine. I hate that I had to put my blog on hold for  all those weeks! Luckaly I gained all of my study credits for my first assignments so it wasn't all for nothing. Tomorrow (actually today allready! OMG it's late again!) I'll start my new 6-week-project at school; Inspirationbook. I'm very excited and curious about this and can't wait to start!
Tomorrow I'll post pictures of my last assignment; Prototype, so you can all see what I've been doing instead of blogging.

For now a little movie review. Today has been a lazy day when I think about it. Yesterday me and my friends rented some movies but didn't get the chance to watch them all. I needed to return them today and so I watched the last one this morning. It would be a total waste if I'd returned it without watching right?!
Then this afternoon I met a friend in Amsterdam. We both have a Pathé Unlimited card and since we wanted to really take good use of it, we went to see 2 films.
First we went to see Going The Distance, a cute romantic comedy starring Drew Barrymore and Justin Long. The movie is about two people meeting and falling in love, but their love life is about to get a lot more complicated when 'Drew' moves back to the other side of the country, where she originally comes from. They try to keep their relationship work long distance.
I did like the movie and I always love Drew, but I wouldn't buy it on dvd when it releases (which I usually do immediately when a rom-com comes out).
After that we had a little break and went for some great Thai food at the 'Nieuwmarkt' square. I always order the same; 7, 8 and 12. Super delicious and it never bores me! Definitely try it some time!
After our nice dinner we saw the new Julia Roberts movie 'Eat Pray Love'.
I have to say, the film made me hungry (again!), made me want to go meditate on some tropical island and my need for a boyfriend instantly grew back from nowhere!
What a great film! The beautiful countries, the impressive activities and the always amazing miss Roberts.... I really had a good time watching this one.
The film tells about a women, Liz, who realizes she isn't happy with her marriage and her life at all. She divorces her husband and decides to take a one year journey to get to know and love herself more, and find happiness again. She starts in Italy, where her main pursuits are eating, drinking wine and enjoying doing nothing. After Italy she travels to India where she learns to meditate and forgives her own mistakes. Her trip finishes on Bali where she learns to love again.
It is a 2,5 hour movie but I had no problem sitting it out. The story really 'had' me because of the the realistic problems and feelings that passed by. Julia acts like she always does. Sensitive, sympathetic and funny. I love her in almost every movie and I think she's at her best in movies like this.
I could go on for a while but since it's kind 'a late and I don't want to spoil anymore details, I think it's better to encourage everyone to go see the movie for themselves. It's different and impressing and should be on everyone's 'must see' list!
I promise you won't have to wait another month for my next post! I'll add another one tomorrow for sure! Sleep tight you guys!

Sex and the City 2 premiere!

Tuesday night Sex and the City 2 had its world premiere at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
In a change from the usual red carpet, the four leading ladies stepped out on a sparkling silver carpet.
As usual they looked stunning in their glamourous gowns.
Sarah Jessica Parker was wearing a bright yellow dress by Valentino Couture, Cynthia Nixon wore a black strapless Carolina Herrera gown, Kim Catrall attended in a gold embroidered dress by Naeem Kahn and Kristin Davis chose a bright pink vintage 1950s Jean Desses dress.
Tomorrow the film will hit Dutch theaters and I'm seriously having a hard time waiting! I won't be able to see it until friday, but I guess one more day won't make that big a difference, right?
Who is planning to see the movie? Tell me what you think :) .
Have fun!

A shot of romance

Once in a while a girl just needs a little romance right? Well, I do and since I’m a true sucker for romantic comedies, I couldn’t wait for the Back-up Plan to hit theatres, so I watched it last night. I totally loved it! Leading rolls are played by Jennifer Lopez and Alex O’Loughlin (I’m in love BTW :P).
The film is about Zoë, a thirty-something girl who has been searching for Mr. Right but still hasn’t found him yet. She’d love to start a family, but getting pregnant is kinda hard without a man, so she decides to get pregnant through insemination. Right after her appointment she meets a guy, Stan, who of course, turns out to be Mr. Right. They fall in love, but then she’s finds out she's pregnant from her first try being inseminated. How do you keep a guy when you’re having someone else’s babies?! Yes, that’s right. Babies. She’s having twins in the movie. Really funny of course, because in real life she also has twins together with singer Marc Anthony.
I really enjoyed watching this movie. I’ve always loved Jennifer in movies. Some of my favourites are The Wedding Planner, Maid in Manhattan and Selena.
I think this movie will be a great comeback for her, since this is her first movie in 4 years.
Her haircut looks really good btw, I think it makes her look very pretty.
Also, a lotttt of Louboutin’s (my favourite!!!) in the movie! I’m guessing she’s Christian Louboutin’s new best friend since her last single, Louboutins, came out.
About Alex O’Loughlin… well… he’s just really hot! And very cute also. Even I would want kids with him :P and you must know, I actually don’t want any! I think I’ll just wait for him to call me then…
Girls, go see this movie if you like a good laugh and if you’re in need of a shot of romance! This is a good one!

In theaters 17-06-10

Told you he looks good (A) ?!

Drama all over again!

Today was announced that Titanic, my all-time favorite movie, will return to theaters again in 2012! And not in he original version, but in 3D! As it will probably be the closest I'll ever get to Leo, I can't wait! haha, I'm sure he will even like me with those weird glasses on :P
When Titanic came out in 1997, I was only 9 years old and not allowed to watch it in the cinema. The only thing I saw was the trailer on TV, but I remember being obsessed right away. I needed to see that movie! When it finally came out on video (Wow, that's a word I haven't used in ages :P ) I had saved up all of my pocket money so I could buy this movie I was so curious about.
I went to the store, payed like 30,- guilders (which was A LOT back then for a little kid like me) and I remember also receiving a film poster that I hang above my bed immediatly. I got home, watched it, watched it and.... watched it again. I was in love! Leo, the story, the amazing ship... everything!
Don't ask me how many times I've watched it by now, seriously, I have no idea, but I'm sure it'll be arround 25 times... maybe more :P
As you can understand, I'm very excited I'll finally be able to watch it in 3D (!) on the big screen. I know, 2012.... but I think it'll be worth the wait! Look at James Cameron's Avatar, a huge succes! Would he ever risk to ruin his 'baby' by changing it into a 3D movie?! I don't think so, we should trust this amazing director! :D
