Pre-Christmas gift! (I bought myself but... whatever)

Just like I promised, a new post today.
I gave away this little hint yesterday, saying that something special arrived at my house.
Well.... here it is!
After a pointless search through Amsterdam looking for a new pair of black, flat boots, I started looking online and found the perfect pair. Jimmy Choo's 'Wylie' boots from their last winter collection, for a great reduced price! The original price was about € 900,- and now they were offered for only € 350,-!
It took a lot of work getting them here, since the website I bought them on wasn't shipping to The Netherlands. The journey my in Italy, handmade boots took, started in the USA, followed by Canada and were than send to Holland. Now they've finally arrived and I couldn't be happier! My old boots started falling apart a couple of months ago, so my need for a new pair got bigger and bigger!
They're made of super soft black leather and both sides have an eagle on them made entirely of studs.
Kinda feels like a fabulous pre-Christmas gift!
Here are some quick photo's I took. Any opinions about my latest purchase?

And Fireworksss!
(also started working with Photoshop which I just got =P obviously not that amazing yet, haha!)

Tha boots!

LANVIN for H&-Me!!

Dear people!
It has been more than 2 weeks since H&M launched their LANVIN collection and because of school, my birthday (Yeeeejjj I'm now 22!) and 'Sinterklaas', a national holiday in Holland, I wasn't able to post my purchases until now. Buttt.... here they are!
This time we went earlier than ever! Me and my two friends Doreen and Elza didn't even go to sleep and we're sitting in front of the store at 1.45 AM. No way we would miss out on these fabulous dresses, shoes and accessories! An hour later other people were joining us in line and we had a lot of fun, even though it felt like we were spending the night on the top of an 'Alaska mountain'. (Thank God for Uggs!)
At 5 AM H&M started handing out the wristbands and as soon as we'd captured those, including a beautiful 100% wool LANVIN scarf (I chose the pink one which I loooveee!), we ran to Starbucks at Amsterdam's Central Station to warm up with a delicious Caramel Macchiato! We arrived back at the store at 07.00 AM and there was only one hour more left to wait. It wasn't that crowded after all, I think around a 100 people had made it to the store at 8 AM.
It seemed so perfect; 15 minutes to shop! But 15 minutes to shop, trying things on 'and' buy the things you like, really isn't that much! After a stressful half hour we were standing in front of H&M with about 2 to 3 bags each, filled with amazing LANVIN items we'd been dying to get since the announcement last September.
I ended up buying the - to die for - black one sleeve cocktail dress, the pink flowered dress, the flowered shoes with eye-catching turquoise ribbon, the t-shirt dress with fabulous tule collar, the leopard clutch and the dark purple lipstick. I also bought the purple, oversized bow-tie from the mens collection. I don't know what I'm going to do with it yet, but I'll find something ;) just wait!
I'm sooo happy with everything I bought! Especially the black dress, which I wore on my birthday I was celebrating in the 'Jimmy Woo' 3 days later. Together with my shocking new lipstick it was quiet the appearance! Received a lot of compliments that night, which made me feel even more like a birthday girl than I already felt!
I promise you all a new post... tomorrowwww! Because something very exciting arrived at my house today!
What do you think of my LANVIN purchases and what did you all get?
Have a great night everybody!

LANVIN for H&M, what are the designs based on?

Hello again!
I really couldn't help myself but I've spend all day googling the LANVIN for H&M collection.
I'm totally in love with all the pieces and I was dying to see people's showroom pic's to get a closer look.
During the day I got happier and happier with everything I saw. A lot of cute little boxes that come with all the accessories, good looking fabrics, even better looking colors and last but not least, the wonderful shopping bag that you'll receive with your purchases. The bag alone is worth buying stuff! I love it!
All these classic Lanvin looks are reinvented by Alber Elbaz and the results are amazing.
But I was thinking about all the people who are just buying H&M designer collections because a designer is involved. Do people really know where the designs come from and what they are based on?
That's why I looked up a few of Lanvin's catwalk creations from the last couple of seasons to show where the H&M designs truly come from.
Did you know this and are you satisfied with how the H&M collection turned out now you've seen this?

LANVIN for H&M collection revealed!

'Evening people!
Today has been a great one if you ask me. I woke up early at 7AM, and the first thought that hit my mind was; "The Lanvin collection! Today! Online!"
I rushed downstairs to pick up my laptop and opened the H&M website and... I was kinda disappointed!
The page wasn't available until 8AM! I had to wait another hour! (OK, a bit stupid of me not checking the launch-time but... whatever!) While I was up already I looked up my favorite blog, Nitrolicious, and surprisingly enough (actually not that surprising because she always seems to be the first one receiving H&M images and information) she had already posted the new 'Lanvin' video. The 'Fashion Show Short Film' shows a hotel with all kinds of things happening behind closed doors and in the hallways. The models show you lovely dresses, shoes, jewelry and sunglasses in a fun way. The film goes on for about 4,5 minute and it sure got me really (and I mean REALLY!) excited for the collection and I couldn't wait for a closer look!
When I got back to the H&M website again at 8AM, I expected to see the complete collection from a closer view, but unfortunately the 'film' I had just seen on Wendy's blog was the only thing that got launched today. The complete collection will be online next Thursday.
I went to school and when I got back home later I couldn't help myself checking the video again. I loved it so much! I opened Nitrolicious again and spotted a new post! The collection overview!
Finally a good look at what Alber Elbaz has created for us!
I L.O.V.E. almost the entire collection! It looks very well made and the fabrics look pretty beautiful. The colours, although there's a lot of black, are truly gorgeous! What's not to like?! Mr. Elbaz has picked out some of his greatest designs and has managed to make everything look just as amazing as the originals from his Lanvin collections. I've picked out some things I totally adore of which you can see images below. Prices in Euro's aren't available yet so I'll give you all Dollar prices for now.
How do you feel about H&M's newest collaboration? Disappointed or excited, like me?

Love 'Eat Pray Love'!

It has been a month! A month! I know I know, I keep apologizing but school has really tide me up more than I could imagine. I hate that I had to put my blog on hold for  all those weeks! Luckaly I gained all of my study credits for my first assignments so it wasn't all for nothing. Tomorrow (actually today allready! OMG it's late again!) I'll start my new 6-week-project at school; Inspirationbook. I'm very excited and curious about this and can't wait to start!
Tomorrow I'll post pictures of my last assignment; Prototype, so you can all see what I've been doing instead of blogging.

For now a little movie review. Today has been a lazy day when I think about it. Yesterday me and my friends rented some movies but didn't get the chance to watch them all. I needed to return them today and so I watched the last one this morning. It would be a total waste if I'd returned it without watching right?!
Then this afternoon I met a friend in Amsterdam. We both have a Pathé Unlimited card and since we wanted to really take good use of it, we went to see 2 films.
First we went to see Going The Distance, a cute romantic comedy starring Drew Barrymore and Justin Long. The movie is about two people meeting and falling in love, but their love life is about to get a lot more complicated when 'Drew' moves back to the other side of the country, where she originally comes from. They try to keep their relationship work long distance.
I did like the movie and I always love Drew, but I wouldn't buy it on dvd when it releases (which I usually do immediately when a rom-com comes out).
After that we had a little break and went for some great Thai food at the 'Nieuwmarkt' square. I always order the same; 7, 8 and 12. Super delicious and it never bores me! Definitely try it some time!
After our nice dinner we saw the new Julia Roberts movie 'Eat Pray Love'.
I have to say, the film made me hungry (again!), made me want to go meditate on some tropical island and my need for a boyfriend instantly grew back from nowhere!
What a great film! The beautiful countries, the impressive activities and the always amazing miss Roberts.... I really had a good time watching this one.
The film tells about a women, Liz, who realizes she isn't happy with her marriage and her life at all. She divorces her husband and decides to take a one year journey to get to know and love herself more, and find happiness again. She starts in Italy, where her main pursuits are eating, drinking wine and enjoying doing nothing. After Italy she travels to India where she learns to meditate and forgives her own mistakes. Her trip finishes on Bali where she learns to love again.
It is a 2,5 hour movie but I had no problem sitting it out. The story really 'had' me because of the the realistic problems and feelings that passed by. Julia acts like she always does. Sensitive, sympathetic and funny. I love her in almost every movie and I think she's at her best in movies like this.
I could go on for a while but since it's kind 'a late and I don't want to spoil anymore details, I think it's better to encourage everyone to go see the movie for themselves. It's different and impressing and should be on everyone's 'must see' list!
I promise you won't have to wait another month for my next post! I'll add another one tomorrow for sure! Sleep tight you guys!

XoXo, Justine W.
