I want !!!

I was just surfing the web and look what I've found!
The IT-bag of all IT-bags, in bright, sunny, juicy, shiny, TO DIE FOR yellow!
But not just yellow... CROC yellow! Is there anything more beautiful?

I guess Heaven does exist...

Steal the deal!

Hey again!
OK, we all know I have a growing nail polish addiction for a couple of months now.
I still couldn't get over the fact that I had missed out on Chanel's 'Jade' last fall and since I'm still in love with the colour I decided to find myself a good duplicate. Lucky for me research was already done by lots of other people who couldn't get their hands on this amazing colour (or just thought it was too expensive).
I chose to buy 'Sold Out For Ever' by Catrice. The colour is very similar to the original. I'm wearing it right now and I love it! It even has a fine shimmer in it, just like 'Jade'.
I also bought a very pretty bright coral shade, 'I scream peach!', that looks a lot like Chanel's 'Orange Fizz'. (When I went to buy 'Orange Fizz' a couple of weeks ago it was sold out, so this is a great find for me!). On the image below it looks like 'I scream peach!' is a little more pink-ish, but in real life they're quiet similar.
Last but not least I've also found a nice grey-taupe colour, 'From dusk to dawn', that reminds me of Chanel's 'Particulière' a little. Although I do own this one, I decided to buy the look-a-like anyway. I just couldn't resist the low prices!
All nail polishes by Catrice cost only € 2,49 each! How cool is that! Can they be any cheaper?!
Besides these 3 colours I bought a few other shades;
  • Catrice Hot or Not? (good Chanel 'Splendeur' dupe)
  • Catrice I see through you
  • Essence Space Queen (Essence nail polishes cost only 1,29!)
  • Essence White Secret
  • W.I.C. by Herôme Jakarta
  • Max Factor - Max Effect Dazzling Blue, Cloudy Blue & Sunny Pink
So, I'm guessing that's enough for the time being, don't you think?! (Well, at least for 2 weeks. Then Paradoxal will hit Dutch stores and there's no way I'm passing this time! haha).
If you have any other tips about low budget buys, let me know!

ASOS order!

Hey everyone!
Yesterday I was looking at my jewelry collection (well, if you can even call that 'a collection') and I have to say... I was a little disappointed. I didn't realize untill I was doing my nails, that I'm wearing the same rings every single day. A little boring don't you think? Yup... That's what I thought.
So last night I ordered some new stuff at Asos.com. Besides 6 (sets) of rings I ordered 3 necklaces and a small bracelet with a little chubby owl on it. So cute!
This morning I received an email that my order was allready on dispatch. Let's hope it'll be delivered soon! My hands are in need of new shiny stuff!

H&M, you've made my day!

I've just heard the best news ever! My favorite store of all times, is opening a 6-floor flagshipstore in Amsterdam! Of course I'm talking about H&M! It will all happen this Fall, and I can't wait!
I've been wondering for quiet some time what was going to be the purpose of this building, that has been under construction for a couple of years now. I couldn't have dreamed an enormous H&M would be popping up! 6 floors of clothing, 6 floors of accessories, 6 floors of... everything! Me = very happy! Can you tell?
Besides becoming the biggest store in The Netherlands, it will also be the first one selling H&M's Home Collection. Currently the Home Collection is only available at the Online Shop but all that will soon be in the past. They're going to use a new system for 'Home' items. For every product there will be magnets that can be picked up, then you take those to the cash register and there they will get you the product that's on the magnet. I don't know about this whole magnet-system but I'm sure they've thought it through.
I'm very curious about the interior. Since H&M is refurnishing all their stores, the new one is probably going to be very hip and modern. I'm actually hoping it will be just as pretty as for instance the one in Barcelona (Portal de l'Àngel) or New York City's Fifth Avenue H&M. But whatever it is going to look like, I'll love it anyhow!
The exact date of the opening isn't published yet, but I will keep you posted on that.
I'll be counting the days!

Low Budget Look - week 31

Hey guys!
I wanted to create a fashionable 'festival' look for you this week.
I came up with the idea somewhere last week, of course because we're in the middle of festival season.
Unfortunately a horrible disaster happened this weekend at German festival 'Love Parade'. The party area had a capacity of 250.000 people but since the festival is so popular almost 1.500.000 came to the event. Far too many as you can understand and sometime in the afternoon the crowd panicked in the entrance-tunnel. 19 people died (1 dutch 22-year-old) and about 345 people got injured.
Let's just hope things like this won't happen again and they will be stricter as regards the event organisations.
For now, my looks.
I picked out two loose, airy dresses, both ruffled, and toughened them up with some cool boots and striking gold accessories. The items aren't exactly a like but it's about the total picture and not just seperate items.
Personally I really like the 'bambi' Paul & Joe Sister dress, and it's not even that expensive!
I think these looks are a good comparison but I'm really curious about your thoughts.
What do you think?

Fall's must-have nail polish!

Ok, we're still in the middle of summer, but Chanel is almost releasing it's new make-up line already! 'Les Contrastes de Chanel' is the must-have Fall 2010 make-up collection.
As you all know I'm a huge Chanel make-up fan (especially the nail polish), so I'm very excited about this launch.
After 'Jade' last Fall, 'Particulière' last Spring and 'Nouvelle Vague' this summer, Paradoxal will probably be the next big thing in nail-polish-world.
It is a dark greyish plum shade that reminds me of Particulière (Still one of my favorites!).
Chanel will also re-release Jade Rose this Fall. Jade Rose was originally released Fall '09, together with the popular 'Jade'. Because 'Jade' got all the attention 'Jade Rose' is getting a second chance this year.
The collection will launch somewhere in the middle of August (Netherlands).
I know I will get me some! What do you think of the new colours?

Beamon Bling!

Ever heard of jewelry brand 'Erickson Beamon'?
The company was founded in 1983 by Karen Erickson, Eric Erickson and Vicki Beamon. That year they opened a boutique in New York City. They weren't designing jewelry at the time, but when they were styling their premiere runway show and they couldn't seem to find the right jewelry to match the outfits, they decided to design it themselves.
The handmade jewels were an instant hit and from that moment on the brand just went up up up! Nowadays their products are sold all over the world and they gain more and more clients everyday.
To expand the brand internationally Vicki Beamon moved to the UK where she leads the London office and EB flagship store on Elizabeth street.
Besides their standard collection they also have a lot of private clients they design for. Just to mention a few; Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Chloe Sevigny, Eva Longoria, Jennifer Lopez, Kate Hudson, Lady GaGa (Photo), Nicole Richie, Rihanna, Sarah Jessica Parker and even Michelle Obama (photo)! All in love with EB's sparkles.
They also design custom runway pieces for the biggest designers such as Chanel, Dries van Noten, Dior, Givenchy, Matthew Williamson and Zac Posen.
When the company celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2003, they launched their first diamond collection (mostly clear diamonds and 18K white gold). One year later they introduced a chandelier collection in 2004.
Personally I have to say I love their designs. I first noticed them at Net-a-porter.com about 2 years ago and have been drooling over almost every piece since then. I've selected a couple of pieces I love that are now available at Net-a-poter.
I think the 'Tropical Punch' earrings and necklace are amazing. The colours really make me wanna drink a cocktail (with Matt Lanter :P ) on some deserted beach.
The spike earrings are also one of my favourites.
If I could just buy some...

'Captured!' - Update

Here's a little update about my Chanel summer make-up.
Back in June I already bought the 'Super' lipstick, 'Laser' lipgloss and 'Mistral' nail polish.
On my vacation I also bought the 'Genial' lipstick with the 'Pop' gloss. Both bright coral colours.
I found them at the airport and couldn't resist. Me and my friends wore it our entire holiday!
I think I even like these two colours more than Laser and Super.
Wear it and you'll feel stunning and fabulous! I'd definately recommend these two beauties!

New arrivals!

Hey there!

When I got back from Italy last sunday the first thing I did when I got home was checking H&M's online shop. Well, at least after I had some sleep. (My night flight had a 4 hour delay, so we'd been stuck at an airport that was too hot and too small. OMG! There was only 1 shop open!)
I knew they had to have some new stuff in since H&M has new arrivals every two weeks.
A couple of tanks (one of them with Lady GaGa on it, I had seen this on the web before and couldn't find it in stores, so let's hope it's cute!), black/white leggings and two pairs of gloves (Real suede and leather!).
I allready have the lace shorts at home because I ordered those before. I absolutely L-O-V-E them! I'll post a picture of me wearing it later OK ;) ?!
What do you think of my latest purchases?!

Accepted!

Morning!
Some time ago I told you about me applying for the Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI) and that I was very busy with all kinds of assignments for my admission.
Well, while I was enjoying the Italian beach last week I received a text from my mum that said... I GOT IN!
After waiting for almost two months, taking extra Math and Economics classes (needed those to even be considered) and having to write an extra motivation letter I kinda lost every bit of hope I would get accepted.
But totally out of blue my mum told me I was! I was so excited! Me and my friends went celebrating that night. Loved it!
I can't wait for school to start! Yesterday I quit my job, so this will be my last month working fulltime. It feels a little weird because I've been working there for more than 3,5 years but I'm sure this was the best thing that could have happend to me!
The only drawback is that I probably won't be able to buy any pair of Louboutins for the next 4 years!
Too bad! I'll just have to take a part time job and I'm sure my dearest shoes will be waiting for me when I have graduated! (But it will be tough... isn't there some kind of 'I can't afford Louboutins anymore' support group?!)
Anyway, my life is going to be very different for the next couple of years and I can't wait for it to begin!
Wish me luck y'all!

XoXo, Justine W.

PS.
Here are some of the assignments I needed to make;

The assignment was to show an image that would represent the sphere of your dream job.
Mine: Working as an Art/Creative director at a fashion magazine

Assignment: make a picture in which you show something that represents a current thing (Zeitgeist/Tijdsgeest)
Mine: H&M's Garden Collection. A very fashionable but at the same time sustainable collection. Sustainable fashion is getting more and more popular and H&M had a great way to participate to this trend.

Assignment: Show you're creative computer skills in one image.
Mine: I made this with ImageReady (Photoshop). I refered to the first assignment (my dream job), but here I obviously have reached my goal and became Art Director at the Dutch version of Vogue (doesn't exist... yet :P ). Since the whole assignment is suppose to be about me, I put myself on the cover.
All the other headlines are things that interest and inspire me. I think I really made it my own.

Back to Business!

Hey everyone!
First, I'd like to explain why my blog has been so dead the past few weeks:
July 3rd, I went on Holiday to Italy, like I'd mentioned before. So just before I left, I was writing a message that I would be gone for some time and when I was coming back again. But I was so busy packing and a little stressed out because of my (off course!) overweighted suitcase, that I totally forgot to post it! Yeah yeah, stupid me...
However, I came back last sunday and I promiss my blog will be up to date again from now on!

About my vacation, I had a really, REALLY great time with my two friends Lisa and Doreen.
*E 'stato Fantasticoooo!* Sadly I haven't seen much of Italy itself. Days were mostly spent on the beach because it was too hot to do anything else (arround 40 °C!!) and at night we went clubbing arround town.
We definately made a crazy picture taking record! More than 2000 (!) photo's! (Warning! Don't expect a lot of beauty and fashionable shots since we're all kinda... disturbed. :D haha!)
I'll post some pictures later this week.
For now; I promiss I will get back to work on my blog immediately ;) !

Ciao guys!
