Low Budget Look - week 22

Hey everybody!
I promiss this will be my last post about Sex and the City. Well... at least for a little while (lol).
Since the second movie is premiering today in Dutch theaters, I thought it would be a nice idea to adjust this weeks Low Budget Post to the movie.
I was thinking about what Carrie would wear to the movies. Definately heels, that's for sure. A classic dress, but with a playful print, a clutch bag and colourful jewelry. Am I right?
I've been looking on the web for the right items and trust me, it wasn't that simple. What I think is funny, is that the designer look turned out looking like something Carrie would wear now (I mean, it could be a look in one of the movies), and the low-budget look like something she could have worn during the show, a couple of years back.
The colours I used are not colours I'd use together initially. But as we all know, Carrie is very good at combining prints and colours, at least Patricia Field is ;), so I thought that would be good for these looks too.
I really feel like I did a Carrie-worthy job this time, so tell me what you think!

Why 'do' we love you B. ?!

Because you're beautiful, you can dance like crazy and off course, because you have the most amazing voice!
'Why don't you love me' is a bonus track from Beyoncé's 'I am... Sasha Fierce' album, which released late 2008. May 4th 2010, the song was released as a single in the United States including a video.
The video is filmed like it is a 50's/60's movie. Faded colours, retro style sets, old cars and B is using all kinds of old fashioned cleaning equipments.
Her looks are perfect I must say. The clothes, the hair, the make-up... The stylist really did a great job here!
There are some details which reveal that this video is definately not as old as it looks, but if you look past those details... it is hard to believe this is a 2010 video.
I love Beyoncé doing dishes in this cute Chanel outfit and she looks really beautiful while she's crying on the phone in the bedroom scene.
For those who haven't seen the video yet, you can watch it below.
Do you like the song and how do you feel about this 50's look for Beyoncé?

Sex and the City 2 premiere!

Tuesday night Sex and the City 2 had its world premiere at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
In a change from the usual red carpet, the four leading ladies stepped out on a sparkling silver carpet.
As usual they looked stunning in their glamourous gowns.
Sarah Jessica Parker was wearing a bright yellow dress by Valentino Couture, Cynthia Nixon wore a black strapless Carolina Herrera gown, Kim Catrall attended in a gold embroidered dress by Naeem Kahn and Kristin Davis chose a bright pink vintage 1950s Jean Desses dress.
Tomorrow the film will hit Dutch theaters and I'm seriously having a hard time waiting! I won't be able to see it until friday, but I guess one more day won't make that big a difference, right?
Who is planning to see the movie? Tell me what you think :) .
Have fun!

We did it 'klein monsters'!

Earlier this week I posted a video of Lady GaGa singing Speechless in the Gelredome (Arnhem).
When she paused the song and mentioned the plane crash in Lybia I definately got a little emotional. If you've been reading my blog these past few days, you probably know why.
I wanted to post other pictures and video's of GaGa's concert earlier but as I was busy preparing for my admission interview for AMFI (Amsterdam Fashion Institute) I just couldn't find the time.
The interview was today, I have no clue about what they thought of me and unfortunately I'll have to wait for at least another two weeks to find out, but I think I did okay. Pray for me guys!
But now... Miss GaGa.
I went to the concert with my friend Elza and my dad (too funny he actually wanted to go, lol).
The support act was 'Semi Precious Weapons', a band with a leadsinger who made me laugh my ass off! The guy was jumping around in stockings and a leather jacket, on gold glitter heels and kept on screaming; "You motherfuckerrrsss"! It was very funny but let's just say the songs aren't really my style... :P
I already said this in my previous post but, once again, Lady GaGa herself was amazing! She started with 'Dance in the dark' while making poses behind a huge screen. Next were 'Boys Boys Boys', 'Paparazzi', 'Poker Face', 'Alejandro', 'Monster' and off course 'Bad Romance'. She also sang 'Stand by me', originally performed by Ben E. King in the early 60's. This because the night before she performed the song at the Rainforest Fund in New York. It was very beautiful and special to hear her sing this.
I was blown away by the amazing outfits, dancers and the huge stage. GaGa brought along a car, a subway train, half a forrest, a fountain, a burning piano and a huge moving monster.
What was also very funny was that she kept calling the crowd 'klein monsters', 'little monsters' in English, but it actually is 'kleine' monsters. I thought it was very cute and I loved that she tried.
This was definately the most impressive show I've ever seen and I'm glad I went after all.
Last monday LiveNation announced that GaGa will return November 29, two days after my birthday, for another Monster Ball concert. For sure I'm attending this one as well!
Here are some pic's and video's I made during the show.

Really a coincidence: I wore the exact same outfit as I wore in Paris (except for the shoes)!

Rock this summer!

Hello again!
Today the new Fashion Against Aids Collection launched at H&M!
(I know, 'today' was actually Thursday, but I wasn't able to post this until 12.10 AM, so for me it was still Thursday but for a computer already friday... That's why it seems like I'm wrong about the date... Just so you know ;) )
Previous collections were all about tops and T-shirts designed by Celebrities such as N.E.R.D., Rihanna, Timbaland and Katy Perry, but this year H&M decided to change their FAA concept.
In stead of using celebrities, H&M designed a complete collection including leather jackets, maxi-dresses, harem pants, tunics and tops. The theme is 'Festival' with a Bohemian-Rock style. Lot's of animal-, paisley and tribal prints, beaded and sequined garments and seventies influences.
Besides clothing lines for both men and women there are also some special items you could definately use during your festival visits. There are sleeping-bags, raincapes, even folding chairs and there's also a panther printed tent.
I really love how H&M is making all these special collections like The Garden Collection and the Fashion Against Aids Collection. What is also great is that both are doing good for the world. TGC was made from all kinds of new fabrics that are much better for the environment, and FAA obviously supports the fight against Aids, which I think is very important since there are so many people in this world having unsafe sex and don't even know what the consequences could be.
Keep it up H&M! I gotta say, I'm wondering about the next one already!
Look what I've ordered this morning in the H&M Online Shop!

So I ordered 38. Let's pray everybody.... (A) lol

Low Budget Look - week 21

Since I'm so busy at the moment I haven't got much time for blogging but luckaly I'd prepared some posts for you. Here's this week's Low Budget Look.

Bonjour!
This week it's net-a-porter vs. H&M shop online.
I wanted to create a comfortable but yet hip and fashionable outfit that you can wear all times a day.
By changing some of the accessories you can switch from day to night wearing the same outfit.
At night (shown) these outfits will be great with glamourous jewelry and a shiny clutch bag, and during the day you could replace the clutch with a nice leather tote or shoulder bag and keep the jewelry more modest.
The designer items are all from net-a-porter and all the low budget items are from H&M Shop Online.
This time the price difference is huge, but I like to show you can make similar combinations spending loads and spending a little.
I'm loving the Alexander McQueen leggings. The colours are amazing and the jellyfish print is different and unusual. Just like the rest of McQueen's last summer collection: Fabulous!
I think the studded Brian Atwood pumps are amazing too, also worn by Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City 2 (see below).
Here are the looks I created this week;

On a side note:
The clutch from the low-budget look is actually a shoulder bag, but I cut the strap off.

Let's go shopping girls!

...so that they can hear us up in Heaven...

You probably understand I'm very busy with other things than my blog at the moment. I visit my friend everyday and try to help her in every possible way... She and her sister are so unbelievably strong, I can only imagine what it must feel like to loose both parents like this... I hope I'll never find out...
Last Saturday Lady GaGa's Monster Ball Tour stopped by in Arnhem and before I was sooooo excited to go, but because of all the drama I wasn't really in a concert-mood... I decided to go after all, which turned out to be great decision! The concert was AMAZINGGG! The outfits, the stage, the dancers and off course... GaGa herself! She's so fab! The complete show was a live performance while dancing and doing other weird stunts... Definately the most talented person in the world if you ask me!
My favorite part was when she performed 'Speechless' on the piano. The song already was one of my favorites, but this was extra special because she stopped in the middle of the song, and mentioned the plane crash in Libya... She dedicated the song to all the victems and she wanted us to hold each others hands and think of all the families who lost someone in the crash. We had to sing the rest of the song with her, so that they could hear us up in heaven... It really gave me goosebumps and it made cry a little... it was very impressing... I also thought it was very special she did this during 'Speechless', because my last post (about the crash), is called 'Speechless'...
Below is a YouTube video of the 'Speechless' moment.
I made pictures and videos myself but I'll post those later this week.
Let me know if you joined the concert and what you think about the video.

XoXo, Justine W.

Speechless...

One of my best friends lost her parents yesterday in the plane crash in Libya.

I have no words... speechless...
I can't describe the disbelief, pain, hurt...
A whole family, devastated.
I hope my friend, her sister, and all other family members and friends, will get through this disaster and will find a way to live with this huge, traumatic loss...

Honey, I love you, and I'll be there for you, whenever you need me to...

New arrivals @ H&M again!

New arrivals in the H&M online shop today! Accessories, underwear, tops, dresses, shoes and.... again new swimwear! I couldn't resist and ordered a couple bikinis (I know, I know, again... but half of them probably won't fit anyway, so now I just have more styles to choose from). I also ordered two pair of shoes, bright blue and blush pink suede (imitation) sandals, and a gold/silver multi-chain necklace...
I think these blue sandals will match with a lot of items from The Garden Collection because the blue seems like the same colour used in the collection. Lets hope so! I'm not sure about the blush pink sandals... I'm curious to see what they look like for real and how they fit. The straps look a little thick but I like the colour, so I'll just have to wait for the delivery.
My previous order is shipping any minute now, can't wait for it to arrive! (And remember; the Fashion Against Aids collection is launching in little over week from now, May 20th.)
What do you think about the items?

A Dutch girl in Paris (Part une)

Last week I told you I was going to Antwerp on Saturday right?! Well... I didn't. Me and my mum got up really (REALLY) early and drove all the way to... Paris!
As I mentioned before I'm being a bridesmaid at my aunts wedding in June, and I'll be wearing the white roses dress from H&M's Garden Collection, but I was still searching for the right shoes.
I wanted something in a nude colour but couldn't find it anywhere in Amsterdam.
Off course I spotted several Christian Louboutin models online that would look fab' with the dress, but the only problem was that non of the 3 stores that sell Louboutin in Holland had any of these models in stock.
Then my mum told me she'd go to Paris with me to find me a pair of Loubou's. How sweet is that?!
So, like I said, we got up really early, arround 2.30AM, and an hour later we were on our way.
We started our search in the first Louboutin Boutique (Rue du Faubourg St. Honoré), but before I bought a pair, I wanted to be sure to have seen everything available. So after store No. 1 we walked to the second boutique (Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau) where I tried a couple of styles, but I wasn't convinced yet. We took a taxi to the 3rd and last store (Rue de Grenelle), where I also tried a pair or 2. Now I had seen it all I thought the first store would probably have the most options, so we took antother cab back to the first store.
I ended up buying the 'Duvette' in nude leather, with pink patent leather on the heel and nose. They look a little like the 'Pigalle' but with a couple of different details. I love them!
BTW; in one of the boutiques they had... the 'gold crystal Pigalle pumps' that Sarah Jessica Parker is wearing in Sex and the City 2! (I posted about these beauties before; 'Feeling like Carrie' ).
They're sooooo... well, I don't know, I'm speechless...! I touched this work of art like a thousand times thinking about the best way to steel it... ( :P lol) believe me, this shoe is To Die For... But they're almost € 2200,-... well... maybe next month... haha!
Besides stalking Louboutin Boutiques we didn't see much of Paris this visit, we did do a little sight seeing during our taxi rides.
We also went to dinner at 'La Bastide d'Opio', a cute little French restaurant in St. Germain, centre Paris. The food was delicious! The starter was 'grilled eggplant and tomato topped with mozzarella with pesto of capers out of the oven' and our main course was 'duck breast with potatoes and cherry tomatoes drenched in honey-apricot sauce'. Hungry already?!
It also wasn't that expensive so I definately recommend this place.
I had a great day and I'm so happy with my 'Duvettes'! I'm sure to return a.s.a.p.!
See the pictures below!

Au revoir girls!

Let the summer begin!

For about 3 weeks H&M's summer swimwear campaign is all over the place. In magazines, on the internet and on billboards.
Since I've been searching for new bikinis for a while now, I was verry happy to see the new ads. The colours are great and finally they designed some new prints! (I was getting a bit bored by those flowered and striped bikinis that seem to return every season).
The new stuff looks good, and.... it's SupeR cheap! Only about € 10,- for a top and bottoms!
When I got to the store I was dissapointed to find out the collection hadn't arrived yet, but when I checked my e-mail this morning, H&M had sent me a mail which said: In stores now!!!
So I rushed to the online shop and ordered 6 bikinis right away!
Can't wait for them to arrive! Unfornately I won't be able to wear them until July 3rd, then I'm taking off to Italy for 2 weeks! I'm so excited!
What do you think about the new swimwear collection?

'Not' so Low Budget Look - Week 19

I'm boreddd! Today, May 5th, is 'Bevrijdingsdag' in Holland. It's to celebrate the end of World War 2, today, 65 years ago! Almost everybody has the day off, but not at my job of course... I'm sitting behind my desk doing nothing because there's nothing to do since the rest of the country actually is enjoying their free time...
No phone, no mail, nothing... So, seems like a good time to work on my blog, right?!
I wanted to create a new Low Budget Look for this week. Saturday I'm going shopping in Antwerp (Belgium) and I thought it would be fun to create a good Spring shopping-outfit.
When I finally finished the designer-look, I discovered it was kinda hard to find the cheaper look-a-like items... I tried a couple of things but I wasn't satisfied. I'm loving the expensive look and non of the cheaper stuff could measure up to it. That's why I decided to only post the designer look this week.
Maybe weird but... whateverrr! :)
Like I said, a good shopping-outfit. I chose this jumpsuit because it's easy to take off and put on again when you're trying things on. Also a small bag. When you're carrying one the size of a suitcase (which is often huge and heavy), you won't be able to carry all the shoppingbags with your new purchases. (smart right?!)
Don't wear heels! But I think I won't have to explain this. Do I?
What do you think? (Except for the price of course, haha)

DESIGNER

Chambray cotton jumpsuit - Matthew Williamson - € 620,-
'Fred' leather lace-up flats - Christian Louboutin - € 446,-
'Derby New Q' leather bag - Marc by Marc Jacobs - € 195,-
Metal logo bracelet - Fendi - € 147,-
Bangle set- Fendi - € 305,-
Hexagonal-frame acetate sunglasses - Balenciaga - € 293,-

Total price;     € 2006,-

And they lived happily ever after...

Last week Christian Louboutin’s campaign adds for the Fall-Winter 2010-2011 collection released, and they’re amazinggg!
I love it! The campaign is called Louboutin’s Winter Tales and every picture is representing some sort of fairytale. I’m guessing the whole idea was inspired by Tim Burton’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’ movie which was released almost two months ago.
I really like the adds, but I’m loving (!) the shoes! Especially the sparkling silver peep-toe booties, the studded leopard ankle booties, the sparkling red-golden strappy sandals and the neutral knee-high boots with studs on the nose.
The silver booties remind me of a golden pair Rihanna wore to YouTube’s ‘VEVO’ launch event back in October. If they look anything like those… they’re fricking HOT!
The complete FW collection will launch online at http://www.christianlouboutin.com/ around June 14.

Below are the adds and Rihanna with her fierce golden Louboutins.

'Alice in Wonderland'
'Cinderella'
I'm guessing... 'Beauty and the Beast'
'The Little Mermaid'
mmm... not sure about this one... something Asian I think.
not sure about this one either...
I think 'Cinderella' again
Also a ? for me...
Rihanna at the VEVO launch back in October
A close-up on the shoes... A little scary maybe, but... definately breathtaking
