8 wins for GaGa!

Woohoooo!
This morning my alarm clock woke me up with great news! Lady GaGa, one of my favourite (!) artists ever, had a great night at the Video Music Awards yesterday! She was nominated 13 times which is an absolute record, and managed to win in 8 categories, of which 7 were for her amazing 'Bad Romance' video! How amazing is that?!
I really envy her. Her beautiful strong voice, the fact that she wears litterally EVERYTHING no mather what people may think of her (she made another 'shocking' statement again at the VMA's by putting on a 'meat'dress! Complete with shoes, a purse and even at meat hat!), her uniqueness, her support for the gay community and people daring to be different. I think it's unbelievable a single person can change so many lives in just two years. I'd say GaGa has the triple X-factor, I can't think of any one else that is more talented than her.
When she arrived at the award show she was wearing a beautiful (theatrical) Alexander McQueen gown with 'the' famous 12" (30,5 cm) 'Armadillo' heels (featured in the picture in my header). A gorgeous total look if you ask me. I also loved her new blue-ends wig and make-up very much! I'm not sure about this meat-dress but it's definately GaGa. I'm wondering how may people she drove away with the smell of that dress. It probably wasn't her perfume that dominated the look!
One more thing to add is that she announced the name of her upcoming album! It will be called; Born This Way. I'm curious to know when the album will be released! I really need some new GaGa-material!
Seeing the pictures makes me sooo excited for her concert November 30th! The MonsterBall Tour returns to Holland for two nights and even though I have already seen the show I can't miss out on this one either! It's just too f*cking fabulous!
Below are some pictures of the outfits. Any opinions?

"We're smiling but we're close to tears"

Hey there!
Here's a song I'd like to share with you. It's called ' For The First Time', by The Script.
The song is about the worldwide crisis and people who's lives are turned upside down because of it.
I love music from The Script. They released their first single ' The Man Who Can't Be Moved' about two years ago and I remember I had it on repeat for quiet a while! Now it's the same story with 'For The First Time'. I think these lyrics are very beautiful and I'm sure lots of people can relate to the words. For example, "I got a new job now on the unemployment line". Very touching and well chosen if you ask me!
I love the leadsinger's voice, Danny O'Donoghue. He really has an amzing sound.
Unfortunately there's no video yet but I'm sure that won't take too long.
Well, listen for yourself. Do you like The Script and how do you feel about their newest single?

GaasperPleasure 2010

Like I wrote yesterday in my 'Fashionable inspiration wall' post me and my friends went to visit a festival last weekend, 'GaasperPleasure'. It's a small festival just outside Amsterdam.
It was my first time at a festival and I have to say, I had a pretty good time!
Actually it's a shame I hadn't done it before. But well, there's a first time for everything!
I was suppose to go just with D. but L. called she got out of work early so I was happy she joined in a little later. Also walked into a couple old friends from High school wich was very funny.
It wasn't too crowded since it had been shitty weather for days. I guess people weren't convinced it would be a nice day. Luckaly it was! The weather was perfect! Sunny all day and the temperature was just right, so we stayed out 'till midnight. Also great DJ's who all played relaxing funky tech-house music.
I'll definately go again next year and I'm planning to visit more festivals next summer! Lovely!

Love the way you lie...

Morning!
Finally! The song that has been on repeat my entire holiday (and after) has a video! Eminem and Rihanna's 'Love the way you lie' is one of my favorite songs at the moment and I've been really curious about  the video.
Big Hollywood stars Megan Fox ('Transformers') and Dominic Monaghan ('Lost') are starring in it as the abusive couple the song is about. I think they're both perfectly casted for these roles and that they really make this story 'come alive'.
Rihanna and Eminem also appear in the video but not in the storyline.
I have to say that I like Riri's newest look. She can definately do the red hair.

My oh my... what a voice...

This is a performance of Jaap Reesema, winner of the Dutch X-factor 2010. This morning he attended the 'Evers staat op' show at Radio 538 and played the first song he ever wrote, 'Hoe hard je ook rent'. It may even appear on his new album which he is still working on.
I don't prefer dutch songs that much, but this one is really nice. I love these lyrics, they make me think of Marco Borsato songs, same writing style if you ask me.
Listen to this amazing song. What do you think?

XoXo, Justine W.

PS: song starts at 2.00 min.

Talent spotted!

Yesterday 'Edwin Evers' (DJ at Radio 538) played a beautiful song. It was a live vocal and piano only version of a song called; Away From You.
I had no idea who was singing it, and suprisingly it turned out to be a Dutch girl, Elske de Wall.
A 24-year-old who I had never heard from before.
I'm guessing a lot of you don't know her either and I think that must change immediately!
This girl has a voice everyone should hear.
Who agrees with me?

Alejandro!

Hey there!
Yeah, it's really me and I'm still alive! Although it must have looked like I've been visiting the Moon or something since I haven't posted anything for like a week! Sorry guys!
I've been very busy with school and there are some exams I have to take next week for which I definately need to study a lot, that's why.
For now I'd like to share with y'all Lady GaGa's 'Alejandro' video, that released last week.
Just like her previous video ('Telephone'), this a very long one. 8.44 minutes to be exact.
It is a weird (what else is new?!) video where GaGa mixes Christian and Nazi influences, what makes this, once more, a much discussed video around the globe.
Not only because of these weird Christian/Nazi elements but also because it lookes like GaGa is immitating Madonna. Remember Madonna's 'cross' performance?! And that's only one thing...!
I really love GaGa and despite the Madonna-parts I do like her new video (I love the dark sets, the dancers, the little make-up she's wearing and the off course those funny wigs). And this might be the first time I've seen her wear something normal, a black top with black trousers! Only the wig reveals this is really Lady GaGa.
Tell me what you think about the video, enjoy!

I have no words, just listen...

June 5th. One of most difficult days of my life for sure.
My friend's parents funeral was today.
I've been sitting here with my laptop for at least a half hour, but I just can't seem to find words to describe this horible day...
This amazing song, Going Home by Kenny G, was played at the funeral. Her dad had also played the song on his saxophone and, well... all I can say is that tears kept coming...
Like I said, I have no words, just listen...

Honey, this is for you, your sister and your parents. May they rest in peace.
I'll always be there for you, I love you.

Some girls 'wanna' dance to the beat of the track

Hey there!
When I go off to work, I allways take my bike. It is an half hour ride from home through a very peacefull and quiet neighbourhood. Every day I'm enjoying the beautiful nature (well, actually only when the weather is good) while I'm listening to my favourite music on my BB.
A couple of weeks ago my earphones broke and I just couldn't find the time to get me some new ones.
All those days without music were awful. It seems like those half hour rides take 3 times as long as usual, and all you hear are bees and flies crashing on your forehead. Like I said... Awful!
Last weekend I finally bought a new pair! This time I thought it might be better to spend a little more on new earphones since all the cheaper ones (Apple for instance) break down quite fast.
As a huge GaGa-fan, what could be better than Monster 'Heartbeats' by Lady GaGa?!
They are different, look glamourous and off course the sound is amazing! They come with a protective case, shaped like a triangle, just like the earphones.
What's also special about them is that the wire is flat what makes it tangle-resistant. How great is that?!
They are available in Bright Chrome, Black Chrome and Rose Red. I went for Bright Chrome, as it suits almost everything I wear (and they were the most shiny :P ).
What colour would you choose?

Why 'do' we love you B. ?!

Because you're beautiful, you can dance like crazy and off course, because you have the most amazing voice!
'Why don't you love me' is a bonus track from Beyoncé's 'I am... Sasha Fierce' album, which released late 2008. May 4th 2010, the song was released as a single in the United States including a video.
The video is filmed like it is a 50's/60's movie. Faded colours, retro style sets, old cars and B is using all kinds of old fashioned cleaning equipments.
Her looks are perfect I must say. The clothes, the hair, the make-up... The stylist really did a great job here!
There are some details which reveal that this video is definately not as old as it looks, but if you look past those details... it is hard to believe this is a 2010 video.
I love Beyoncé doing dishes in this cute Chanel outfit and she looks really beautiful while she's crying on the phone in the bedroom scene.
For those who haven't seen the video yet, you can watch it below.
Do you like the song and how do you feel about this 50's look for Beyoncé?

We did it 'klein monsters'!

Earlier this week I posted a video of Lady GaGa singing Speechless in the Gelredome (Arnhem).
When she paused the song and mentioned the plane crash in Lybia I definately got a little emotional. If you've been reading my blog these past few days, you probably know why.
I wanted to post other pictures and video's of GaGa's concert earlier but as I was busy preparing for my admission interview for AMFI (Amsterdam Fashion Institute) I just couldn't find the time.
The interview was today, I have no clue about what they thought of me and unfortunately I'll have to wait for at least another two weeks to find out, but I think I did okay. Pray for me guys!
But now... Miss GaGa.
I went to the concert with my friend Elza and my dad (too funny he actually wanted to go, lol).
The support act was 'Semi Precious Weapons', a band with a leadsinger who made me laugh my ass off! The guy was jumping around in stockings and a leather jacket, on gold glitter heels and kept on screaming; "You motherfuckerrrsss"! It was very funny but let's just say the songs aren't really my style... :P
I already said this in my previous post but, once again, Lady GaGa herself was amazing! She started with 'Dance in the dark' while making poses behind a huge screen. Next were 'Boys Boys Boys', 'Paparazzi', 'Poker Face', 'Alejandro', 'Monster' and off course 'Bad Romance'. She also sang 'Stand by me', originally performed by Ben E. King in the early 60's. This because the night before she performed the song at the Rainforest Fund in New York. It was very beautiful and special to hear her sing this.
I was blown away by the amazing outfits, dancers and the huge stage. GaGa brought along a car, a subway train, half a forrest, a fountain, a burning piano and a huge moving monster.
What was also very funny was that she kept calling the crowd 'klein monsters', 'little monsters' in English, but it actually is 'kleine' monsters. I thought it was very cute and I loved that she tried.
This was definately the most impressive show I've ever seen and I'm glad I went after all.
Last monday LiveNation announced that GaGa will return November 29, two days after my birthday, for another Monster Ball concert. For sure I'm attending this one as well!
Here are some pic's and video's I made during the show.

Really a coincidence: I wore the exact same outfit as I wore in Paris (except for the shoes)!
Outfit; red rose jacket H&M Garden Collection white tank top H&M Garden Collection jeans tregging Pieces green knotted peep-toes Christian Louboutin tote Jimmy Choo for H&M charm necklace - black pendant, silver gun, black skull - (Thomas Sabo)

Like a fairy...

GaGa's bloody 'Alejandro' performance

The crowd went nuts when she wrote 'Holland' on her arm with the blood!

...so that they can hear us up in Heaven...

You probably understand I'm very busy with other things than my blog at the moment. I visit my friend everyday and try to help her in every possible way... She and her sister are so unbelievably strong, I can only imagine what it must feel like to loose both parents like this... I hope I'll never find out...
Last Saturday Lady GaGa's Monster Ball Tour stopped by in Arnhem and before I was sooooo excited to go, but because of all the drama I wasn't really in a concert-mood... I decided to go after all, which turned out to be great decision! The concert was AMAZINGGG! The outfits, the stage, the dancers and off course... GaGa herself! She's so fab! The complete show was a live performance while dancing and doing other weird stunts... Definately the most talented person in the world if you ask me!
My favorite part was when she performed 'Speechless' on the piano. The song already was one of my favorites, but this was extra special because she stopped in the middle of the song, and mentioned the plane crash in Libya... She dedicated the song to all the victems and she wanted us to hold each others hands and think of all the families who lost someone in the crash. We had to sing the rest of the song with her, so that they could hear us up in heaven... It really gave me goosebumps and it made cry a little... it was very impressing... I also thought it was very special she did this during 'Speechless', because my last post (about the crash), is called 'Speechless'...
Below is a YouTube video of the 'Speechless' moment.
I made pictures and videos myself but I'll post those later this week.
Let me know if you joined the concert and what you think about the video.

Lady GaGa's 'Telephone' video

Finally! The video we've all been waiting for!
'Telephone' is allready on its way out of the charts, but there still wasn't an official video for the song... until last Thursday!
Miss GaGa wasn't satisfied before and since she wanted it to be perfect we all had to wait a little longer.
The result is, if I may say so, fabulous! The Hair, the clothes (or should I say, the tape, haha), the sets, the Pussywagon... again, AMAZING.
The best look is the one in the studded leather jacket with the soda cans in GaGa's hair. WHO came up with that?! CRAAAZY but so cool! And I must say, the sigarette-glasses are pretty amazing too.
I also like the fact that the video continues where the Paparazzi-video left off.
Beyoncé's appearance is a little different from what she usually looks like, but, still very Sasha Fierce.
Some stations, like MTV, have decided to ban 'Telephone' because they think some lines have been crossed in this video, which I think is totally nonsense.
There are lots of videos that are much worse but most of the time, those are videos from male artists. Now that GaGa does a similar one, all of a sudden it's too heavy and too shocking. America's prudity starts to annoy me by now... But since the mini-movie has been watched over 15 million times in just three days I'm sure that Miss Gaga and Honey Bee don't need MTV to make it a succes... It allready is!
Great Job girls!

X Factor Winner?!

Heyhey, here I am again!

I don't know why, but I'm a talentshow addict. I know, I know... They're all kind of the same, but I'm a true sucker for good voices!
A couple of weeks ago a new season of the Dutch X Factor started and there's this one guy, Kelvin Muïs, whose voice totally makes me melt... OMG, I love it...!
He makes all the songs sound like his own by making subtle changes in the melodies
The finals haven't even started yet but I allready think this guy should win!
Check out his audition and the chorusline video at the X-campus below... :D
What do you think of his voice?! Let me know ;)
