LANVIN for H&M, what are the designs based on?

Hello again!
I really couldn't help myself but I've spend all day googling the LANVIN for H&M collection.
I'm totally in love with all the pieces and I was dying to see people's showroom pic's to get a closer look.
During the day I got happier and happier with everything I saw. A lot of cute little boxes that come with all the accessories, good looking fabrics, even better looking colors and last but not least, the wonderful shopping bag that you'll receive with your purchases. The bag alone is worth buying stuff! I love it!
All these classic Lanvin looks are reinvented by Alber Elbaz and the results are amazing.
But I was thinking about all the people who are just buying H&M designer collections because a designer is involved. Do people really know where the designs come from and what they are based on?
That's why I looked up a few of Lanvin's catwalk creations from the last couple of seasons to show where the H&M designs truly come from.
Did you know this and are you satisfied with how the H&M collection turned out now you've seen this?

Fashionable 'inspiration' wall

Morning!
Last weekend was pretty busy. Saturday I joined a festival with 2 of my best friends. I had a great time and I'll post pictures tomorrow.
Sunday I decided to finally say goodbye to my black and white wallpaper. It has been on there for about 3 years now and to be honest, I haven't really liked it since the beginning. I think the print is far to heavy. Luckaly the paper covered only one wall, the others are black and the last one's white.
My school starts next week so I'm very excited, and to begin this new period of my life I thought it would be time to make this ugly wall a fashionable 'inspiration' wall.
I spent the whole day sorting out my favorite magazine pages, tearing out new ones and glueing and composing them on my wall.
It was a very tireing job but I have to say I love (!) the final result.
I think it looks very cool and although this doesnt really look soothing either, it actually is. There are a lot more colours now but it looks calmer because there's less contrast I think.
What do you think of my latest creative outburst?

Must have outerware!

Hello again!
It's not really coats and jackets weather yet, but I can't help myself thinking about the newest must-haves for the upcoming season! I'm actually a little bored by everything in my closet at the moment, so in my head I'm throwing it all out and replacing it with the hottest items of the moment. Think of it as 'From catwalk to closet', but literally :P haha.
I've already picked out some coats I'd loooove to have. Well, the style at least. A good camel, leopard fur or pilot from Zara won't be a problem at all!
Now... let's hope I'll find me some soon! If you've seen anything like pictured below and you may think I'd be interested, let me know! Like I said, I'm looking for a nice fur coat (fake off course, and I'd also like a good leopard print), a camel coat and a cool shearling pilot jacket. ;)
What are you planning to treat yourself with for the cold days?

Copy spotted!

Look what I found!
I was reading one of my favorite blogs, Nitrolicious, and saw her latest H&M showroom post. I noticed a black/gold brocade military jacket from the Fall collection and it immediately reminded me of Balmain and McQueen's Fall '10 shows. Both showed brocade items and even the whole setting at McQueen's show was baroque and looked like it came out of a 17th century painting.
I think this H&M jacket is a great copy of the trend and also a fabulous piece for those who can't afford Balmain. I may even like H&M's buttoning more than on the origianl Balmain. It has a more military feeling because of the straight-down buttons. I definitely like the new-military!
What do you think of this trend and H&M's copy?

I Salute you! Justine W.

Inspiration - Week 32

Need some inspiration? Maybe this will help.
I've decided to create more inspiration 'mood-boards' because I always receive positive comments on them.

What's on your Fall wishlists?! Mine definately includes a camel coat. They were all over the catwalks and I think it is very nice, sophisticated, classic trend, that has been gone for quiet some time. I mean, I can't remember camel coats being hot and happening. Can you? There maye have been a single designer now and then who added one in his collection but the glorious camel coat-days are ages ago.
But as we all know it's back! Seen at Chloé, Alexander Wang, Ralph Lauren, Prada and many more!
I especially loved what Chloé showed us. I got really inspired by the warm classy colours. Mustard, Ochre, Camel, Sand, Cognac. These make me want it to be Fall already. Imagine yourself in a Chloé look, walking through a Fall forest, surrounded by red, yellow and brown leaves. Perfect right?!
I took an image of Chloé's show and searched for items matching the trend.
As you know I usually pick items that are wayyyy too expensive, but this inspiration post is a low-budget only post! Maybe this time you're able to actually afford something featured below :P .
I hope this is the first of many to come!

Here we come, Forest! Here we come!

Morning guys!
It's raining! YUK! I'm glad I put on a longsleeve this morning, it really isn't that warm today.
I'm loving warm and sunny days but this weather kinda makes me wanna wear warm and cozy Fall items again! I've picked out a couple of items in all kinds of green colours. Greens are much seen next season. From Army to Moss, from Bottle to Olive. Green it must be.
I've always had a thing for green. If you ask me, the best time to wear it is Fall. Leaves are changing to red, orange, yellow and brown shades, while you're keeping green alive. Love it!
I love summer but at the same time... Can't wait for Fall to arrive!

The lovely weather of the last couple of days has me constantly dreaming about summer!
I can't wait to wear al of my summer dresses and heels, with bare legs of course, and be able to go out without needing jackets or scarves! :D
Here are some idyllic, beautiful and romantic spots I looked up to keep me in a sunny mood...

Unexpected creativity

Hey there!
Last February I started a Fashion Design course at the Artemis Styling Academy in Amsterdam. I was very excited to go there again after finishing an Allround Styling course there a year ago.
The assignment for our first lesson was to bring 4mtr's of fabric. We were suppose to drape it on a dummy and make it look like.... well.... something wearable.
I really thought I wouldn't be able to pull it off and when we started I didn't believe in my own creativity AT ALL... but after trying a couple of things I kinda got the hang of it. :D At the end of the lesson I had created two different dresses... I'm quite proud of the result actually, if I may say so :P
Pictures below, what do you think?
