First week back in school!

OOPS! Sorry again for this somewhat late post! My new school, the Amsterdam Fashion Institute, has got me pretty tide up!
Last week I've visited the 2 introduction days and yesterday the real thing started! I have to say, it's a lot of work, but I'm really enjoying it!
I'd like to show you some photos I took during the introduction. Day two started with an interesting reading about Fashion Photography which was followed up by a visit to the FOAM, Photomuseum Amsterdam.
Until September 15th there will be an exposition of Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin's work. A world famous fashion photographing duo that has been working together for more than 25 years and works for clients such as Chloe, Balmain, YSL, Gucci and many more. Often featured in W Magazine, Vogue and The New York Times, they're definately at the top of the photographing world!
FOAM shows an extensive collection of their work from 1985 until now which is worth seeing once.

Hey there!

Here's a song I'd like to share with you. It's called ' For The First Time', by The Script.

The song is about the worldwide crisis and people who's lives are turned upside down because of it.

I love music from The Script. They released their first single ' The Man Who Can't Be Moved' about two years ago and I remember I had it on repeat for quiet a while! Now it's the same story with 'For The First Time'. I think these lyrics are very beautiful and I'm sure lots of people can relate to the words. For example, "I got a new job now on the unemployment line". Very touching and well chosen if you ask me!

I love the leadsinger's voice, Danny O'Donoghue. He really has an amzing sound.
Unfortunately there's no video yet but I'm sure that won't take too long.

L. is finally turning 21 today!!!

Big party tomorrow and my surprise gift that I won't be giving for another week! Haha!

H&M's Shop Online has some spectacular new arrivals today!
One of the most wanted items for Fall, a shearling Pilot Jacket, in a beautiful chocolate brown colour.
Also the chunky knitts are well represented! A huge oversized grey cardigan that will only be available in selected countries! And a colourful shorter cardigan of which they also offer a super long matching scarf!
And last but not least... The brown croc bag! The bag that has been on the internet for a couple of months now and the bag that everyone wants to have! Seriously, for the last couple of weeks I've been walking in and out of H&M stores in search of this cool, vintage looking bag (it will be a perfect with my new camel coat from Zara!) just so that I wouldn't miss out on it! Luckaly I ordered mine this morning, I'm pretty sure it won't be available for long!
I just noticed the leather jacket and the grey cardigan are already sold out! So take a look if you can, this new stuff will be out before you know it!

Speed up!

Hey guys!
I'm sorry for the lack of updates but it has been a busy week.
I've been helping my successor at work since next friday will be my last day at the office. And this week is also my first week officially being a student at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute. Today and yesterday were both introduction days and I had a great time! I'll tell you about that in my next post.
For now I'd like to discuss the weekend. D., one of my best friends, participates a 'car cross' in Abcoude once a year. It's called 'Autocross Abcoude' and D. entered for the 4th time this year.
We arrived early, arround 10AM, since preparation is everything! The event itself started at 12AM.
There we were, my other BF L. and myself, encouraging our bestie in her 'Pussy Wagon'. In all three rounds she scored pretty well! 6th, 3rd and 7th! This was enough to grab a place in the finals!
We all were super excited when she raced off, unfortunatly... barely half a minute after they started a big clash happened! Two cars ended up in a ditch and some others crashed onto a couple of straw bales. D. managed to get back on track but it turned out her car broke down in the clash. She only drove one more round but that was it... So, no big prize for her in 2010 but we did have a great day and lots of fun!
Let's hope she'll get further next year. For sure that I'm going to be there!

GaasperPleasure 2010

Like I wrote yesterday in my 'Fashionable inspiration wall' post me and my friends went to visit a festival last weekend, 'GaasperPleasure'. It's a small festival just outside Amsterdam.
It was my first time at a festival and I have to say, I had a pretty good time!
Actually it's a shame I hadn't done it before. But well, there's a first time for everything!
I was suppose to go just with D. but L. called she got out of work early so I was happy she joined in a little later. Also walked into a couple old friends from High school wich was very funny.
It wasn't too crowded since it had been shitty weather for days. I guess people weren't convinced it would be a nice day. Luckaly it was! The weather was perfect! Sunny all day and the temperature was just right, so we stayed out 'till midnight. Also great DJ's who all played relaxing funky tech-house music.
I'll definately go again next year and I'm planning to visit more festivals next summer! Lovely!
